JBlend™ successfully deployed on Open Mobile System for China Market

Aplix Corporation (TSE: 3727) is proud to announce that its market-proven Java™ platform JBlend™ has successfully been deployed on the first release of commercial handsets based on OMS (Open Mobile System), a customized platform based on Google's open source operating system known as "Android™", led by China Mobile. Being the first Java ME product enabled on commercial models on Android, Aplix reaches a remarkable milestone as a global leader of mobile software.

Since its announcement of joining Open Handset Alliance in November 2007, Aplix has been committed to contributing to the commercialization of the Android platform on consumer electronic devices. Since then, Aplix has not only been integrating JBlend and advanced features on the Android platform for the global market, but has also brought JBlend to OMS with its experience and expertise on China Mobile specification. JBlend on the first release of OMS phones supports China Mobile Java 3.0 specification and is compliant with operator test cases. By June 2009, it will support the China Mobile Java 4.1 specification and be ready for commercial shipment in Q3.
