JBlend™ Deployed in KDDI’s A1406PT Handset
TOKYO, JAPAN - September 7, 2006 -
Aplix Corporation (TSE: 3727), the global leader in deploying Java™ technology in mobile devices, announced today that its JBlend™ platform has been deployed in KDDI’s A1406PT handset made by Pantech&Curitel Communications.
The new flip design A1406PT, Pantech’s second CDMA 1X model to the Japanese mobile carrier KDDI, focuses on simplicity and convenience to new users by featuring practical applications and design such as enlarged letters and key pad buttons.
Together with JBlend platform, which has already been deployed in the first Pantech’s CDMA 1X handset (A1405PT) for Japanese market, A1406PT continues enabling users to enjoy rich games that are pre-installed in the device. On top of that, users can use camera and Ezweb service easily with the “smart mode” specially designed for elderly customers and enjoy other applications such as the deep sleep mode while stand by, etc.
JBlend is Aplix’s unique platform enabling "never-seen-before” features on mobile phones, and increasingly on digital devices. It has already been deployed on over 233 million mobile devices around the world as of the end of Jun 2006.
