WILLCOM new handheld device "W-ZERO3 [es]" uses JBlend™
TOKYO, JAPAN - July 4, 2006 -
Aplix Corporation (TSE: 3727) announced today that its JBlend™ Java™ platform will be preloaded on Willcom's "W-ZERO3 [es]" devices, which are manufactured by Sharp Corporation. The "W-ZERO3 [es]" is the latest version of the popular W-ZERO3 series next-generation mobile communications handset. Like its predecessor, the new model also comes preloaded with JBlend.
The "W-ZERO3 [es]" has both a mobile phone-style keypad that allows easy one-handed input, and a miniature PC-style sliding QWERTY keyboard so that users can type with both hands. It also features mobile industry's first 2.8-inch VGA (640 x 480 pixel) high-resolution mobile ASV LCD, for crisp display of web pages and e-mail, as well as Excel® , MS Word, and PowerPoint® documents and other PC data.
The JBlend platform is pre-integrated with Windows Mobile® 5.0 on the W-ZERO3 devices, and is compatible with the J2ME Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) 1.1 [JSR-139], the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) 2.0 [JSR-118], as well as with HI Corporation's 3D engine for three-dimensional graphics. The JBlend platform powers this comprehensive set of features enabling users to enjoy a rich Java experience with games, multimedia, and other types of applications.
