JBlend™ platform set to ship in the first commercial phone based on China Mobile's Java 3.0 specification

November 16, 2005 -

iaSolution Inc. announced today further progress with China Mobile Communication Corporation (CMCC) in introducing the first commercial handset based on CMCC Java 3.0 specification to the market. Expected to be launch by the end of this year, the much anticipated CMCC Java 3.0 compatible handset will be running on JBlend platform.

Since March of 2005, when iaSolution has supported CMCC in designing its Java 3.0 specification, it has developed and delivered the CMCC Extension ToolKit (CETK) in accordance with an exclusive agreement for the next 2 years signed by both companies.

With the recently announced CMCC Java 3.0 specification (on September 28, 2005), CETK SDK has been made available to content providers to develop Java applications compliant with CMCC Java v3.0 spec, and handset manufacturers to assist debugging on mobile phones as the toolkit has passed all J2ME TCKs and CMCC-specific test cases for the three different tiers (i.e. high-, mid-, and low- tiers). On top of that, CETK supports multiple languages, different screen sizes, and interruption of incoming mobile phone events and most importantly, it is very easy to use.

"Given iaSolution's solid experience in CMCC's Java 3.0 specification, extensive commercial deployment experiences with handsets manufacturers adopting the different Java extensions, and TCKs-ready CETK, we have been requested by several local handset manufacturers to integrate our Java solution based on CMCC's 3.0 Java specification and we expect the first model will be shipped to the market by the end of this year. Additional CMCC Java 3.0-based phones are expected to follow." said Wesley Kuo, President and CSO of Aplix Corporation.

iaSolution has been a recognized leader of Java in the region since it was founded in 2000. The integration with Aplix was finalized in August 2004. The merged company's JBlendT platform has shipped in more than 150 million mobile phones on over 250 phone models as of September 2005.
