Aplix Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; CEO Ryu Koriyama) announced today that its Java™ platform JBlend™ for embedded systems supports the OMAP2420 processor from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI). The OMAP2420 is TI's newest processor targeted for 3G mobile phones delivering the high-levels of processing power needed for mobile entertainment applications. JBlend™ 's leading support for TI's newest processor was realized through the combined efforts of TI and Aplix.
The OMAP2420 includes both ARM Jazelle (Java hardware accelerator), as well as PowerVR MBX (3D graphics accelerator). JBlend™ utilizes both of these underlying processor technologies to improve the overall user experience of Java applications.

We are pleased to see Aplix's JBlend™ using the Jazelle-accelerated Java architecture on OMAP2420 to improve the users' gaming experience, said Paul Werp, TI worldwide director of marketing, Cellular Systems.
The OMAP2420 is highly efficient delivering optimal performance and low power consumption to enable entertainment services from mobile phone manufacturers and mobile network operators. JBlend™ and OMAP2420 contribute to the further development of 3G mobile phones for Java services that are entertainment-oriented.
During 3GSM World Congress held in Cannes France 2005 (February 14th to 17th), Aplix will be exhibiting February 16th and 17th at the TI Developer Village (Hall 1-B6).
