Aplix Achieves ISO 9001:2000 Certification
San Francisco, Calif - February 10, 2003 -
Aplix Corporation, the global leader in deploying Java™ technology in mobile phones, announced today that it has been awarded certification for meeting the stringent requirements of the International Organization for Standardization in its ISO 9001:2000 guidelines for quality management effectiveness.
Tohmatsu Evaluation and Certification Organization Co., Ltd., an inspection and verification organization authorized by The Japan Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment, conducted the assessment, which encompassed the design, development and support of Aplix's software products.
The ISO 9000 family of international quality management standards and guidelines has earned a global reputation as the basis for establishing quality management systems. The ISO 9001:2000 standard specifies the requirements for the implementation of a process approach in developing, implementing and continuously improving the effectiveness of a company's quality management system, and to enhance customer satisfaction by understanding and meeting customer requirements.
ISO 9001:2000 certification is an important milestone in Aplix's mission of advancing and globalizing its software products and achieving widespread customer satisfaction.
